Thursday: February 17, 2011- Dustin had the portacath procedure done. The procedure went very well. The doctor came and talked with us before he went back for the incursion and explained what was going to happen. The port is located on the right side of his chest. This port will save Dustin from having to get IV’s every time he has treatment or blood draws.
Dustin did a great job during the procedure and recovery. He’s been taking Tylenol and icing the area and he is ready for his Bleo this week. The doctor who preformed the procedure said he would be healed enough to use the port for the first time this week!!
Thank you all for your continuing prayers and support!
Happy to hear Dustin got a port. One of the biggest mistakes of my treatment was getting all of my chemo via IV. When this is all over Dustin will be very happy that his veins are still accessible and he won't have to worry as much about the IV slipping during treatment or the burn of that nasty stuff going up his arm. I keep Dustin and all of you in my prayers every night. Again, don't hesitate to call or write if there is anything that you might have questions on or I can help in any way. God bless!

I heard about your story from a friend. I am completey moved and encouraged from your strength and all the love that surrounds you. I CAN"T ENCOURAGE YOU ENOUGH TO WATCH "FOOD MATTERS" (Netflix instant watch) and to also research GERSON THERAPY. It may make a world of difference. Prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for doing such a great job with your blogging! I so appreciate that I can keep updated on how Dustin is doing, what's happening with his treatments and loved being able to experience the fundraiser through your videos, pictures and comments. We, unfortunately, couldn't attend physically but were with you all in spirit. We continue to lift all of you up in prayer every day and believe for Dustin's complete healing. Thank you and God Bless You for loving Dustin as you do. I always say that God brings people into your life because He knows who you will need and you are a perfect example of that! Big hugs for all of you! Eddie & Mary Anderson
